Here is a little update and photo shoot of what I missed while I was away from blogging. This update covers from summer 2013 - the end of 2013/early 2014.
First off we have Isaac's first haircut on 6/6/13. As you can see from above he definitely was not to keen on that. He was ticked. Luckily Steph is good with kids and was able to work around him having a fit over it and get his hair cut. He went from looking so young to looking like a big boy. It is amazing what a haircut can do and how big it can make you look.
Second: The boys had got a turtle from Papa Joes Farm and oh my word did they get attached but we had to let it go eventually. Vince and I let the boys keep the turtle for a week and then we painted their names on it and went in the back yarn to release him. When we released the turtle Wyatt was waving bye to it and he watched it go for awhile and then moved onto something else. I was surprised for how much he watch the turtle when we had it inside and attended to it, that he did not throw a fit when we let the turtle go. He really surprised me.
Then we had 4th of July at the Schumer's in 2013.
We do this every year and Dan and Kathy always gets about 200.00 or more of fireworks to shoot off. They do such an awesome show and they grill out for everyone. It is definitely a fun time with games, food, the firework show and good company. Isaac ran around with all of the big kids and by golly he was going to do what they did even if he got hurt. Lol! Second child syndrome I guess. Isaac also loved the fireworks and watched in amazement as each one was shoot off. The year before that he wigged out at the noise. This year like his big brother, he was cool about it all and loved it.
We had a movie evening at Waterloo Cinema. It was Isaac's first movie and Wyatt's second time going to the movies. Isaac did good for being two. We had a whole row to ourselves so that was nice. Isaac when he was feeling restless would just go up and down the row and then watch the movie again.
Isaac had fun playing and goofing off with friends and just in general.
Some playing at the local pumpkin patch picking pumpkins. We did not end up carving them in 2013 due to life being crazy and Isaac being at an age where it would not work. This year we are for sure going to carve pumpkins and I pray I am able to have time to do a post. They did have a blast picking out pumpkins though and playing at the pumpkins patches playground. I love our local pumpkin patch. They do such a good job at keeping everything up and always seem to have something new for the kids to enjoy each year.
We had Halloween and went trick or treating. They both always love that. For the past two years we have been going out to the subdivision by the JC Ball Diamonds and they always get alot of candy and then after that we go to the Grandparents house as you can see.
The boys with their ornaments I got off of etsy. I started a tradition for us. Every year I go online and have an ornament made for them and have a design put on it that is relevant to something they are big into in that year or a big event that they had happen. Wyatt s this year for Christmas was a school bus and Isaac a monster for his first movie and Wyatt's was for starting school.
Then we had Christmas with the grandparents and god parents. The boys always get alot of gifts and love this time of year. This year the big gift was linking logs and legos. Between the grandparents the boys have a large plastic tote of the logs. Isaac is not into building things so much. He is more into destroying everything that Wyatt builds. Little brothers.
Isaac had his first or maybe second trip to the magic house. Just him and Vince went and he had a great time. Vince said they were not even out of the parking lot and Isaac was sound to sleep. The magic house is such a good place for kids. So much to do and it wears them out in no time. Isaac is a busy body and likes to keep busy so the magic house is perfect for him.
Lastly we all went with Jim and Pam to Wooster Ohio to visit Jim's brother Steve and his wife Debbie.
It was a Friday-Monday trip. Jim drove and we left Friday and came back Monday. Man that was a long car ride. We did visit an Amish community which was cool. Wyatt loved the horse and buggies and the Amish store they had there which was a bit pricey. It was cool seeing what all they make by hand though. Then we also went to a cheese factory and sampled a bunch of different cheeses and bought some to bring home with us. They didn't make it home though. Between Vince and I, the boys and his parents we all eat it all with crackers. Other then that we swam at the hotel pool, relaxed and when to Steve and Debbie's house to play games and visit with family. It was a good trip. Isaac was amazing in the car. Wyatt did great to!! No complaining at all. They both were all the way in the back of the van that Jim and Pam rented to take and they just watched the DVD players that was in the van, listened to music and played some car games. We were all impressed!! We thought for sure with this being Isaac's first long trip he would be the hardest but he wasn't. He slept for the majority of the ride. You cannot beat that.

Oh man, this makes me want the holiday season so bad! Haha. All of it...from pumpkin picking to Christmastime. :) Isaac has changed SO much! I'm glad you were able to update, hope you will be able to do it more often! :)
ReplyDeleteI am definitely going to try and be better about blogging. I miss it that is for sure. It is just things are crazy right now around our house with everything going on.
DeleteI want the holiday season also but I have to admit I am a bit scared of it this year considering the snow we got last year and me driving to work at 25 mph. Lol! Not fun. I am sure Eric and a ton more people can relate.
