Swim Lessons 2014

Well we are doing another year of swim lessons this year. This is Wyatt's third year and Isaac's first. After talking it over Vince and I opted to do the YMCA membership and get the cheaper rate to do semi-private lessons. Vince and I did the swim lessons at the Red Bud Pool for two years in a row and Wyatt did not seem to get much out of them. There was a ton of kids in his class both times and he did not get very long at all. So we decided to try and the new approach and see if we could make this year his last year for swim lessons. Isaac we know we will to do again since he was only 2, almost three but with semi private you have to provide the two kids for the swim lessons for them to take the semi private so we thought what the heck lets try and Isaac and see how he does.

You get seven-eight sessions and we are on our fourth now. Wyatt is doing great and improved so much. He is over his fear of not touching and is getting away from the wall, swimming, jumping off of the wall and diving to get toys from the bottom of the pool. Can you say Awesome!!! The more we are in the pool the less fear he has which is one the  reasons we have been swimming like crazy this summer. That and we have awesome family and friends that invite us over to swim in their pools.
Isaac on the other hand is very bull headed and will not work with Vince and I to practice swim strokes or anything BUT if Danielle the swim instructor takes him for a little bit he is all over that. He will do anything for her. Such a flirt!
Vince and I came to the conclusion to just let her work with him at swim lessons and he does great. He is a little young yet so I am definitely thinking we will be doing another year with him. I am thinking if we can swing it, we will  do it at the YMCA again next year. The boys get 45 minutes for the both of them together in the water and since Isaac is under 3 Vince or I have to get in the water with him and the instructor during the lesson. Danielle, the instructor is super nice and good with the kids. Also since we have a membership we can swim anytime we want at any YMCA location.  So when we go we make a day of it, swimming, movie rentals and just hanging out together. Its good family time.

And usually when we go we see if Tegan would like to go swimming with us and they all have a blast. Tegan has adopted the name Splash Monkey. That girl can jump, jump and jump in the water continuously and never get sick of it. She loves it!!!!
